Method of hair tightening: simple screw mechanism, no ferrule. Stick: made of pernambuco, dark brown; cross section round, octagonal for c. 170 mm at frog end; grip of light colour leather padding at frog. Head: facing: inner strip of ebony and outer of ivory; the head consists of two parts of wood, almost invisibly glued together; square wedge; on triangular plane. Frog: made of ivory; parallelogram plane, narrowing in the middle with c-shape inner undercutting; shape typical of Dodd’s frog design; screw cap made of ivory; screw made of iron; eyelet of brass. The frog does not fit the stick.
