Method of hair tightening: simple screw mechanism, no ferrule. Stick: made of exotic wood in rather bright brown with a hint of orange; cross section is entirely round; no grip. Head: facing: plain; square plug; head type: boot-like; triangular plane, pique type with raised tip. Frog: made of ivory; parallelogram plane with a c-shape inner undercut; rear edge with sloping cut; screw cap made of ivory; screw made of iron; eyelet of brass. The frog is probably not original to the stick.
