Method of hair tightening: simple screw mechanism (frog not original, with ferrule). Stick: made of rather poor quality wood with knots, bright brown colour; cross section is round, octagonal for c. 170mm at frog end; silver thread winding; grip padded black leather; the end of the stick has been tapered towards the end to accommodate replacement screw cap. Head: facing: plain; rhomboid plane. Frog: made of ebony; trapezoid plane with a c-shape undercut; rear corner slightly rounded and tapered towards the middle bottom; ferrule gold plated; slide mother-of-pearl; no backplate; screw cap silver-ebony-silver (not original, probably from a violin bow) octagonal cross section; screw made of iron; eyelet of brass.
