Method of hair tightening: simple screw mechanism (frog not original). Stick: pernambuco; cross section round, octagonal after padding towards screw cap; no thread winding; padded grip: black leather with zigzag on edge; stick has been repaired w/ thread. Head: facing: ebony inner and ivory outer strips, ivory missing beyond the hair; two visible pins mounting hair plug; rhomboid plane. Frog: of ebony with eyes of mother-of-pearl; rectangular plane with c-shape undercut; rear corner rounded; rear end tapered towards middle bottom; silver ferrule; slide of ?mother-of-pearl (slide + eyes have been painted over in white); backplate of silver; screw cap of silver w/ octagonal cross section; screw of iron; eyelet brass; liner of ?silver.
