Method of hair tightening: frog and hair missing. Stick: made of ?pernambuco, dark brown colour; cross section is round, octagonal for c. 140mm at frog end; no padding or wiring. Head: the head is made in two sections, the lower of ox bone attached to the stick by a nail (visible in the wedge hole) and a pin which is closer to the end; trapezoid plane; the head facing tip is raised and undercut from the side of the head; hollowed hole for trapezoid plug; a strip of ebony is inserted into the upper edge. Frog: missing. Curved in the middle towards thumb side.
