Method of hair tightening: frog and hair missing. Stick: made of wood of dark brown, going into burgundy; cross section octagonal for entire length; marks suggest previously had padding. Head: facing: inner strip of ebony (somewhat deteriorated), outer of ivory, also embracing the tip; trapezoid plane; hollowed hole for trapezoid plug. Frog: missing.
