Trumpet

This trumpet is surmounted by a standing figure, under which, is the airhole, where the trumpet would be blown. The figure has sinewy arms, with the hands clasped as if holding a beard or in prayer. The facial details are well defined and show a thick wide mouth and cowrie-shaped eyes underneath thick arching eyebrows. On the reverse of the figure, the spine has been made apparent by fine carving and a small perforation runs from the base of the spine through to the front. A suspension loop is also evident on the reverse.
