Pair of open-ended flutes, made of wood with seven melody holes in the front, one at the top and four at the bottom. for tuning. They are mounted on a frame with two rods. At the end of each rod is a oily rag to lubricate the flutes. When played as a pair one flute plays the melody, the other is the drone, - 'kaval'.
