Tambura
Unfretted, 4-stringed, long-necked lute with an hemispherical resonator ("tumba") of ribbed calabash gourd (Lagenaria sp.). Wooden neck, heel, top, tailpiece, upper bridges and pegs (probably made of red cedar - Tun wood - or teak wood). Simple round pegs. Strings, bridge and fine tuners missing. Female tambura G tuning. Stylized floral and geometric motifs painted in gold colour over a bright red and green backgrounds throughout the instrument. The painting was applied over what seems to be a metalized primer coating (aluminum?).
