Angklung
Single-pitch, sliding rattle made of bamboo (Poaceae). Two bamboo tubes (melodic anklung), closed at the ends by a natural node and tuned to octave equivalents of a single-pitch are vertically placed and attached to a frame of bamboo slats, rods and rattan lacing. These tubes are inserted into a third, horizontally-placed open resonator bamboo tube through small slits cut along its length. The instrument is sounded by a shaking movement from the player, which forces the tubes to slide on the frame and sets them into vibration.
