rectangular violin. Back: 1 piece sycamore, medium arched, recovered at edge, with single purfling; varnish orange-gold. Belly: 1 piece pine; f-holes 75mm upright, wide, cut at ends in rectangles. Ribs: sycamore; endpin, tailpiece, nuts, fingerboard all in ebony. Neck: detachable, fitting into groove in block with retaining flange. Pegbox: cleanly cut, with square edges. Scroll: perfunctory lobe with flat sides, merely continuing the fluting from the back of the pegbox. Length 600, back 362, width 110/93/110, ribs 49
