back: 1 piece sycamore with careful purfling, generously arched, with slight groove at waist; button notched; edge rounded, corners long and square; varnish golden brown spirit. Belly: 1 piece pine, highly arched, recovered at edge, slightly ridged, with rounded edge, 'tubby but tasteful'; single purfling carefully done; f-holes (35mm) set very upright in the body. Ribs: sycamore, slightly contrary-angled in the waist. Endpin ivory, with plain button; tailpiece: ebony; bridge: old but not original; original bass-bar. Fingerboard: ebony, old but ?not original. Neck: sycamore, 1 piece with head, slightly angled. Pegbox: cleanly cut inside and out; 4 boxwood pegs. Scroll particularly well cut, with bevelled edges and bosses.
