Miniature violin

viol-shaped body, with upswept shoulders, no projecting corners, and the ribs flush with the plates at the edge. Back: 1 piece of sycamore, highly arched, recovered at edge. Purfling single, carried straight across below the button; varnish: golden-brown over gold, in good condition. Belly: 1 piece of pine, lh wide grain, rh narrow; f-holes short, rounded, set low. Ribs: sycamore, flush with plates; endpin ivory; nut, tailpiece modern in style. Head, neck: 1 piece of sycamore; neck angled, with shallow curves at ends. Head: little, broad, with well-cut scroll. Bass-bar original. Length 405, back 203, width 103/72/123, depth 27
