strings: 6 stopped, 7 sympathetic; 13 pegs. Back: 2 pieces sycamore; arching low, flat over midline, with marked recovery at edge and a groove at the waist; no purfling; button rounded. Belly: 2 pieces of medium-wide grained pine, quite steeply arched and recovered at edge; soundholes: flame-shaped, set upright and high in the body; a thick 2mm line of ebony around edge serves as purfling. Ribs: similar wood to back, with band of darker brown varnish along middle. Endpin in ebony; Tailpiece: ?cedarwood faced with ebony. Neck: deep, angled, 1 piece with head. Pegbox: shallow S-curve. Scroll: wide, pierced, with bevelled bosses. Length 785, back 390, width 188/124/235, depth 57/56
