Technical description: Wooden frame with lap joint, scalloped at each tensioner. Thumb hole has polished wooden bush. Head lapped onto wire flesh hoop; counter-hoop is ferrous metal band. 7 tensioning rods with wing-nut tensioners pulling on metal hooks around outside of counter-hoop. 6 pairs of gilded jingles each of diameter 54 with high domed centre; 4 bells mounted on spring-loaded rod inside, sounding:-(a) A?? -1 cent D? -16 cents(b) B? +23 cents D?? -10 cents(c) A?? +40 cents A?? +42 cents D? -14 cents(d) D?? +45 cents F?? +20 cents Repair History: Spring-loaded rod holding bells possibly a replacement.
