One-string fiddle.

Technical description: Soundboard of spruce; back sides head and neck of sycamore; peg of box; fingerboard, tailpiece, tail-gut protector and endpin of ebony. Soundboard shows evidence of tree damage. Ebony/sycamore/ebony purfling. Golden Varnish. Flame sound-holes. Composite shape - violin shape in the top half with guitar shape below the upper points. Two piece back, medium figure which rises from the edges to the centre. Neck is unfigured, 506 long; fingerboard 635 long, 17.3 wide at nut, 31.2 wide at bottom. The nut, fingerboard and bridge are all curved even though there is only one string. The tailpiece is a violin tailpiece, converted by drilling a central hole and not using any of the standard holes.
