Contrabass valve trombone. Nominal pitch: 18-ft B♭.
Technical description: Brass; german silver stay mounts and one bell section ferrule. Angled layout; adjustable angled mouthpipe; angled adjustable pipe between body of instrument and bell section; loop in bell section. Length of shorter leg of tuning-slide 130mm, allowing increase of air column length by nearly 260mm. Valve type: 4 rotary valves in line. Repair History: The curved shank has been repaired and its stepped bore profile may not be original.
