Bass drum.
Technical description: Military model bass drum. Metal (probably copper) barrel-shaped shell made in two parts, soldered together with circumferential join at centre of the shell. 10 screw thread tensioners onto wooden counter-hoops fitted with brass square nuts. Oval carrying harness eye mounted on plate of diameter 50, at centre top of shell. 20-inch heads.
