Stage 'trumpet'. Nominal pitch: 4¼-ft B♮.
Technical description: Brass, straight, 1 valve. The bore profile closer to that of a flügelhorn than to that of a trumpet. Ligature tuning at mouthpipe shank and liagture joint between valve and bell sections; the tenon of this joint has a short stocking. Bell bore profile without wide flare (i.e. like a sackbut). Valve type: 1 Berlin valve, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston.
