Oboe. Nominal pitch: C.
Technical description: Rosewood; german silver keywork, reed well lining, socket linings and bell ring. Simple octave keys. The C♯-alt key is a lever and the touchpiece is mounted over the other L4 keys. There is a single key with the functions of both the C and B♭ keys on the normal simple system instrument, this key has the same mechanism as the TP-alt key on the thumbplate oboe. The R2 plate is independent of the R3 ring although both close the brille and both are on the same axle. Depressing the lowC key lowers the R2 plate and R3 ring and closes the brille. L0: 8.1.
