Practice chanter for highland bagpipe
Technical description: Chanter of light weight hardwood (shesham wood), stained, mounted with solid white-metal sole, length 272. Chanter top or 'cap' marked for (?) Donald MacDonald of Edinburgh, early 19th century or before 1840 (?), ebony, fitted with an ivory ring on the mouthpiece to reduce wear on the wood, length 215mm.
