Violin and bow
This violin is made of varnished maple, with a spruce soundboard. The fingerboard and tailpiece appear to be of ebony, while the tuning pegs are of a dark hardwood, probably rosewood. The violin is unlabelled, and the fine tuners on all four strings suggest that the instrument was used by an amateur, rather than a professional player. The accompanying bow has an aluminium frog which is stamped D. R. C. M.
