Kettledrum
Copper-shell, kettledrum made from three copper sheets seamed together (2 tab seams visible). Cable-tensioning system, with a T-shaped tensioning handle on side, and external pulley wheels mounted on bowl and rim hooks. All tensioning fitments of brass, with steel cable, and steel hooks. Animal skin head with wooden flesh-hoop. Steel tripod base. Used by the 17th (Duke of Cambridge’s Own) Lancers.
