Claw cage bell (elephant bell)
Solid cast, claw-shaped (hemispherical dome from which descend roughly identical and equally spaced tines with an inward curvature) brass bell with spherical clapper. This type of bell was used on elephants to track their movements, and this particular example is associated with Brigadier General Sir Hugh Archie Dundas Simpson-Baikie.
