Clarinet in B-flat
This clarinet, owned by the donor's father, was formerly played in the Baptist Chapel, Lion Walk, Colchester. It is made of turned boxwood, in five sections (barrel, upper, middle and lower joints, and bell), with ivory ferrules and brass keywork. It has six flat, round-cover keys mounted in knobs and lower stock bulge, with flat springs attached to keys. The mouthpiece is made of dark wood and has a thread ligature. Nominal pitch: B-flat.
