Transverse flute in C
Side-blown, boxwood flute made in five sections (head, barrel, upper and middle joints, and foot joint), with ivory caps and ferrules. Eight flat, square-and-riveted cover, silver keys mounted in wooden blocks and foot joint stock bulge. The low C and C-sharp touches overlap. Flat springs attached to keys. Round embouchure hole, and larger 2nd and 5th fingerholes. Potter tuning head. Nominal pitch: C. This instrument is part of the Albert C. Spencer collection.
