Transverse flute
Side-blown flute made of cocus wood in four sections (head, barrel, body, and long B foot joint), with nickel-silver ferrules and keywork. It has thirteen cylinder-cup keys mounted in posts with rods, with cork paddings and flat springs attached to keys. The low C key has a rod-shaped touch that is adjacent to the low C-sharp key touch. The head is lined with metal, as well as the socket/tenon joint with the barrel, and has a wooden cap with cork stopper, and an oval embouchure hole. Nominal pitch: C.
