Transverse flute
Side-blown flute made of cocus wood in four sections (head, barrel, body, and long C foot), with nickel-silver ferrules and keywork. It has eight cylinder-cup keys, mounted in posts with rods, with flat springs attached to keys. The low C and C-sharp keys have adjacent touches. The cap is made of nickel-silver and has a wooden threaded stopper screw. The head is lined with brass (metal tuning slide with barrel), and has a nickel-silver lip plate in sleeve form. The fingerholes are bushed with nickel-silver and the embouchure hole is oval. The tenon joints are wrapped with thread. Nominal pitch: C.
