Clarinet in B-flat

This instrument is associated with Chas. King, from W. Surrey Regiment. Clarinet made of cocus wood in four sections (barrel, upper and lower joints, and bell) with silver-plated brass ferrules and keywork. It has thirteen cylinder-cup keys, mounted in posts with rods, with flat and needle springs attached to keys and posts, with cork paddings. There is a brille key at the lower joint (two ring-key), a straight throat A-flat key, and the register tonehole is at the front of the body. The socket/tenon joints are lined with metal. The bell ferrule is pressed on the bell flare. The mouthpiece is made of ebonite and there is a silver-plated ligature and cap. Nominal pitch: B-flat.
