Transverse flute
Side-blown flute made of cocus wood in four sections (head, barrel, body, and long C foot joint), with nickel-silver ferrules and keywork. It has eight modern-style-cup keys mounted in posts with rods, with flat brass springs attached to keys. The low C and C-sharp keys have adjacent touches. The head is lined with metal, as well as the socket/tenon joint with the barrel, and has a nickel-silver cap with wooden threaded screw and cork stopper, and has an oval embouchure hole. Nominal pitch: C.
