Guitar

The front of the guitar is made of spruce. The two-part back and ribs are made of rosewood. The triangular-shaped neck and pegbox, which is veneered with rosewood, are made of mahagony. The fingerboard and bridge are made from ebony. The soundhole is embellished with three strips of purfling, the middle strip has a herringbone inlay. The outline of the front and the centre joint of the back have additional purfling inlays. The peg box holds two sets of engraved brass tuning machines with three bone tuners each. The saddle and the pins on the bridge are also made from bone. Each pin has a small mother-of-pearl inlay. 'CF Martin & CO New York' is stamped onto a crossbar and the upper block inside of the guitar, as well as on the back of the head.
