The chamfered frog is made of ebony and silver is used for the ferrule, underslide and a one-piece (softened right angle) heel plate. The slide and eye are made from mother-of-pearl. The three-piece button is made from silver and ebony, with a mother-of-pearl eye on the end of the button. Silver wire wrapping and a black thumb leather protect the octagonal handle and ivory protects the cello bow-shaped tip. A pair of flats, allowing the frog to slide on a circular surface, stop 1mm before the end of the handle.
