Rag dun
One of two Tibetan trumpets (rag dun). They are made of copper with brass decoration and would have been used for religion ceremonies. They are used by the Karma Kaputa monks of Tibet and the sound made is a drone for chants. The trumpet is telescopic for portability. The mouthpiece is similar to western style brass instruments and several pitches can be achieved by the mouth's differing ambiture. 'Two Tibetan large copper trumpets' (Christie's entry)
