Transverse flute
Transverse flute, nominal pitch C. Silver-coloured metal. Four joints. The keywork uses Carte's 1851 key system with an open G sharp key. Cylindrical bore. The head joint has a barrel embouchure plate, decorated at each end with a running engraved acanthus leaf design. It is stamped below the head joint tenon socket: 'Council & Prize Medals; Boehm's Parabola, Carte's Mechanism; T. W.'. In a case with a detachable lid. The case plate lacks an inscription.
