Concertina
English-system concertina. Flat amboynas ends, 6.25in/159mm across parallel sides, simple fretwork with pine backing. 48 ivory buttons, black and blue accidentals, stamped and bushed. Square-end nickel reeds. Four-fold black leather bellows, black papers (probably painted). One green leather strap, one later black leather strap, with nickel screws. Pan and action stamped: J Scates; Oval paper label: Joseph Scates Manufacturer, 40 Frith Street, Soho, London; Serial number: 155.
