Melodeon, diatonic button accordion. Black wood ends, 11x6.5in/280x165mm; blue pallet board with gilt decorations. Right-hand has 10 metal-tipped wood buttons, metal open pallets, 4 wooden reed bank knobs. Left-hand has 2 bass and 1 air button. Brass reeds. 12-fold bellows, including 2 thick folds; with metal edges. Right-hand has a leather thumb strap, left-hand has a fabric hand strap. Bellows embossed: 'Royal Salute'. Metal mountings embossed: 'Empress Accordeon, Trade mark [swan] registered, made in Saxony'. No serial number.
