Whistle; vessel flute
Pho'u, nut shell whistle, vessel flute. An empty nut shell, ovoid in shape, with a hole cut at one end to form a rim across which the player blows. Horniman Museum number M7.7.59/51 is shown in the image with a similar instrument, M7.7.59/2, and has a smaller mouth hole.
