Windbell
Wind bell. A small bronze clapper bell of circular cross section, with an iron clapper. The top of the bell has an integral ring with a red cord attached, from which the bell would have been suspended from the eaves of a roof. There are three grooves around its circumference part-way down the bell. The base of the clapper has a hole in it, through which a ring of iron is fitted. Suspended from this ring is a thin, leaf-shaped sheet of gilded iron. The bell chimed when this pendant caught the wind.
