Bo with Tiger Pattern (Bo bell with Tiger Pattern)

Preserved in good condition. The instrument was broken but has now been restored. The centre of the animal mask should have a raised edge, but it is broken. The whole instrument is of dark brown colour. The body of the instrument is quite slim and long, and is shaped like a combined pair of tiles. The mouth (yu) is flat. The upper surface (wu) is flat and has a trapezium loop called niu. There is a wide cross-shaped hole on the upper surface. The majestic animal-mask motif is the main design on the body of this instrument. The raised edges (feileng) of either side of the bell both have a pair of upside-down tigers on them. These four tigers have flat bodies, wide-opened mouths and curly tails. There are flat studs placed above and bellow the animal mask. Except for the gu, the body of the instrument is covered with cloud patterns.
