Six-frog Large Bronze Drum (Bronze drum with frog motifs)
The middle of the top surface of the drum is broken. The 6 frogs cast on the top surface are all broken. Made of bronze, with greyish-green colour on the surface. The drum is large in size. The body of the drum consists of three sections: the upper section, middle section and lower section. The top surface is wider than the upper section. A pair of flat ears are attached to the left and right sides of the drum, between its upper and middle sections. Eighteen double-lined rings of decreasing size are cast on the top surface of the drum, one inside the other. The centre of the top surface is decorated with a large number of sun rays. In between the rings are different designs such as cicadas, birds, coins, insects, mantises, animal-masks, lines and so on. There are 22 patterned bands around the body of the drum, featuring designs such as cicadas, birds, coins, insects, mantises, animal-masks, lines, flowers and leaves, shells and so on.
