Bronze Drum with Eight Treasures Pattern

Well preserved. Made of bronze, with dark green colour on the surface. The body of the drum is short and squat and has 4 casting marks. The top surface is smaller than the upper section of the drum, but is extended slightly wider than the neck of the drum. There are 6 small holes evenly distributed around the area between the top surface and the upper section. The upper section is decorated with 2 pairs of trapezium-shaped flat ears. Ten single-lined, double-lined or triple-lined rings of decreasing size are cast on the top surface of the drum, one inside the other. At the centre, there is a sun with twelve rays. In addition, other designs include studs, thunder patterns, floral designs, eight treasure patterns (the main design), flying flags, diamond shapes, concentric circles and so on. The body of the drum is decorated with 9 patterned bands that include studs, diamond-shaped patterns, cloud and thunder decorations, multi-line angular shapes, concentric circles and so on.
